Here some updates folks, long due but now that I look back, I`m happy I obsessed over some things and retweaked and killed myself over nights like this.

As a side note, I managed to bake out textures of a 15 million faced export out of zbrush onto a 8k map , spotless clean uber gorgeous diffuse. And 4k everything esle :D Lovely xnormal :D Post up some updates on that soon

Looking nice vic - might want to bring some of those purple and blues back into the brown colouring, starting to look a little samey. Really great design and going well though :D

Ok so here`s some progress on the baked bust, still a wip, i`m having issues with the specular, it`s not coming out as I want it too but i`ll soon fix it.

I`ve used tesselation, normal bake, normal for detail, diffuse, specular , cavity, and have also used epidermal and subsurf for skin, added translucency.

Still wip more to come.

The hair needs to blend or are you covering that?

Can the eyes all move?

Hey Neil, yes the eyes are separate objects, they will be able to rotate slightly, they are spheres inside :) as for the hair and head, yes the crown pretty much masks the seam, i`ll also have some alphas of hair strands, right now i`m working to finish the bake asap, then i`ll have a small 512k map with hair stuff, that i`ll spam on legs and oh her head :D

Oh she`s almost done but will post her textured when I tweak all the textures but here`s a preview so far.

This is real-time in marmoset, basically tessetalion through a disp map + parallax + normals + detail normal map (tileable noise to mask some seams) + translucency + engine ao .

I hope you guys like it ...

PAM PAM

All views are real-time,presented in marmoset atm, with tesselation + parallax + normals + details normal map + translucency + engine ao + a bit of bloom + some red scattering

Only two x 2k maps, spec, gloss, diffuse, normal and displacement (for tesselation) and a tileable  normalmap sand texture as a detail map to break the seams.

Almost done :) Need to bake the armour bits tomorrow :D

Will post a turntable as soon as it renders.

Awesome work Vick :) The eyes can be improved, the iris is not blending with the black part, the yellow is too sharp I think.

great work vick, but i would get rid of the forrest background as its crazily distracting and makes it quite noisy to read :)

also the mono tonal is a cool look however i do feel the features do tend to merge into one a bit because of this nature, dark colours only really tend to read well with detail if the surface is shiney/reflective so you can see the light passing over the surface detail - and same could be said about how stuff too light washes detail out

might be worth upping your reflectivity up and making some parts more glossy to try and pick some of those details out, i almost want to see her skin feel quite moist and sort of.... "ewww looking" especially on some of the hard shell bits i would expect them to be almost like a crap shell in terms of texture, also trying some crazy colour combinations between the fleshy bits and the armored bits to see if you can make and key details pop out abit more.

keep it up

Thanks for the feedback guys, I got some similar feedback yesterday as well.

I will definitely get back to it, so things to do is Bump the gloss on the eyes, tweak spec and gloss on the skin areas to make em more wet and slimy and tweak some diffuse to give variation :D

The background however is just a placeholder I used in marmoset, i just wanted to see her in a green enviro so I can tell how the browns and greens work but I will surely not leave any picture/baground images visible when doing final presentations, again thank you very much for the feedback I`ll post tweaks later today or tomorrow.

I will post some more of yesterday`s pictures in a bit :D

Thanks guys for the critique,

Vick.
