Cheers! Id have to agree i guess, i could spend months tweaking it, but im going to leave it until i get the whole lot put together and tweak away then. Thanks for the motivational speeches everyone, keeps me going through the caffeine fuelled days and nights.

Ive spent the whole day adding parts to the humvee,
ive finished modelling the engine,
remodelled the front wings,
remodelled parts of the interior,
quickly modelled a temporary smoke launcher,
modelled the floor in the humvee,
added some details to the front lights
and sorted out some topology issues in the boot.
oooh and i cut a wacking great hole in the roof for the gun operator.

Ive decided what i want to "call" this showreel piece. "Operator Dead, Post Abandoned"

Here is my latest offering, enjoy.

Cool, now more detail! Make it look as if it's straight out some mad max film or a modified carmageddon car... biggrin.gif Do you mind sharing the model in the end, I'd love to texture that when it's done...

Haha, don't worry Scott, if you let me texture it I won't use it in my reel or something.. just wanna get some practice with a hard surface model... see if I can beat marek denko to it tongue.gif (and I'm too lazy to model such a thing..)

Cheers pav, ill sort out rendering out a wire for you at some point, dont be too excited, the topology around some of the more odd areas is alittle sketchy, (hence why there are 2x iterations of turbosmooth on it). I hope the car is going well?

@Dennis, Sure thing dude, im really flattered that you'd wanna take a look at something made by little ol' me!

@Mario, I honestly just looked outside to see if the sky was collapsing and the horsemen of the apocalypse where coming, is that, is that something positive?! you are softening in your old age mario. biggrin.gif
Thanks though, alot of time been spent/to be spent to get this upto how i want it.

Having a night off tonight, gotta enjoy the last couple of weeks with the girlfriend before we go back to uni and i am computer bound.. sad.gif

Praise where praise is due, man smile.gif It's really nice, make the textures top notch and you've got a solid piece.

People would do well to place this much effort and time into all their work.

Your worst piece of 3D work yet, give me the sourcefile and forget you ever made it smile.gif haha!!

Great stuff, you are getting better and better all the time. Another one in the bag, once you have nice lighting, oh yes and textured it, rendered it and oh well you still have a way to go but its looking great.

The boy done good biggrin.gif Now all it needs is a row of cute fluffy toy bunnies strapped to the bull bars at the front smile.gif

Vehicle modelling does seem to be rather useful for showreels at the moment, a few grads have got jobs recently because of decent vehicles in their reels.

Wow, thats for the motivational pep talk everyone, its just all fueling me to work even harder to get my showreel together. I cant go back to working at the fish and chip shop next summer...i think ill kill myself/kill someone else!

Oh and neil, ill make sure to delete it, ill banish it to far reaches of my recycle bin.

Ive been doing some more work over the past few hours, im really enjoying the hummer, but i want to savour it, so i dont want to overwork it in a rush.
Here is my latest offering in the way of some textures that i will be giving away for free once they are finished. Im working on about 10 different tileable textures. Here is a sci-fi wall piece ive been putting together, im going to do a 100 polygon LOD tile at some point tonight. Here is the hi and super low poly comparison.

VERY wip, its just an occlusion and a normal atm.
enjoy!
