Not an Arch Viz expert but... The house overall looks nice - the chimneys could use a chamfer here and there. The tarmac, on the other hand, doesn't look good at all - it looks like a noise map and doesn't have any variety. The foliage, never mind it's ready made models, could be better - the trees look flat and the textures on the trunks aren't really good - I think you can fix that easily... The lightning is also a bit flat and the foliage fights with the house because of the high contrast... Why don't you try to make a night version in your spare time - I think it will look better

Everything is a bit high contrasting, I would lower the saturation of the foliage textures slightly and put a less noisey texture on the road as stated. Maybe more of a darker colour and less blue, with a mix map using a noise overlay set large to give some colour varience over the tarmac

i think the foliage is fine as it is. It's a very nice piece of work.
i am in agreement that the tarmac needs work though, and the tree could be replaced with something better. good stuff though |

Good work Alfredo, I agree with the tarmac comments. I'd consider putting the foreground into shadow so that it has less visual interest/effect on the scene - it does take attention away from the house a little, but you might find that the client won't like that because it will look like there is a nearby house overshadowing the subject building and therefore hinting that the area of land around hte house isn't as generous as they might wish the buyer to think. One are I personally would adjust (although again client's might like it that way) is the bleached out white plaster render in the gable ends - too me it's too bright and needs to show a hint of texture and off white, but to some people that looks dirty so go with whatever your art director likes, he is probably likely to know the client's tastes. If you put any of this in your showreel you might want to address these issues. Nice to see things are working out well

Thanks guys for your comments, yes I will defenatly look at all the issues raised, as far as I'm aware the client is happy with this CGI at this stage, but i will however address all your comments with my work colleagues and directors. Thanks for your comments Martin, yes things have all worked out good, I'm loving the arch vis work im doing as im implementing alot of different techniques we were showed at uni into work and at the same time learning alot working in an arch vis company.
Cheers! |

I really like it. And if my time working on Arch Viz has been anything to go one, "what makes the best image" isn't always (or, indeed, is rarely) "what makes the client happy". And ultimately it's that second one you're shooting for, because it's them who pay you!
