...And here is the latest progression update:
Have re-animated the dragon to fit with shots for the film,
Have re-layered the compositing to give a nicer effect,
Tweaking render in compositing software,
Added disappear effect using nParticles, in which the monster disappears to ash like particles that dissipate from the dragon mesh shape (have added some scripting to get the particles to appear in random fashion and random scale)
(Inspiration for effect taken from Voldemorts death in Harry Potter film)
Things to do:
Play with the look of the ash nParticles to get a more random look,
Increase the nParticle count from 2000 to 4000 to get a more dense look as the dragon geometry fades,
Add a disappear cam to compliment the new particle dissipation effect.

Very nice visuals! Love that last still. Three minutes for one animator was very ambitious though
